Green the Map is the fair trade arm of Swechha, a Delhi-based social organization that aims to inspire, create and support a just, equitable and sustainable society – for everyone and forever. GTM’s journey of extracting the best out of waste started in 2009 with a basic question, could there be more to waste than just the landfill? Vimlendu Jha, the face behind the enterprise, felt the strong need to recognize the efforts of rag pickers and waste collectors and to work with them to give a new life to the collected waste. The end result is a range of accessories, stationary and items of home décor – nothing is wasted when the GTM’s magical ‘karigars’ get creative! And, by the way, they even have an Upcycled office!
