This Raksha Bandhan, let’s not only make a promise to protect each other but also pledge to protect our environment. Sow these Rakhis into soil and see your love grow into a beautiful plant. The Rakhis are handmade with any of these seeds: Karanj seeds (Millettia pinnata), Golden Shower tree seeds (Cassia fistula), Marigold seeds and woollen threads.
Dimensions: 4.5 cm x 2 cm How to grow: Take a mixture of Garden clay (50%) + soil (30%) + coco peat (20%) in a small pot (you can use a discarded PET bottle or coconut shell too). Remove the threads from the rakhi after use. Split the outer shell into two parts. Remove the seed/seeds and sow it, approx 1” deep into pot and sprinkle some mixture over it. Spray some water and keep the pot in shade. The seeds should germinate in 4 to 5 days. It can then be shifted into a bigger pot. The shell can be composted.
Disclaimer: The rakhis are handmade, though they are not fragile, they can break under pressure. Keep away from fragrance and water. Do not scratch or wipe the rakhi. Slight discrepancies in the shape/size/texture cannot be considered as defects.
