Livecrafts is a social enterprise that aims to bring contemporary designs and concepts into the world of Channapatna Wooden craft making. Located near Bangalore, the village of Channapatna is best known for its handcrafted toys, made using locally available soft wood with a traditional lacquer ware technique. Only natural vegetable dyes are used to colour the toys, making them eco friendly, non hazardous and safe for all. Livecrafts believes it can bring in some value and exposure to the faceless artisans, many of whom are 3rd generation craftsmen. In an effort to empower local women, Livecrafts trains and employs them to provide them with a better livelihood opportunity.
